Your chance to own a rather special book!
At the inaugural AGM of the Ashover Light Railway Society on May 19th at 2.00pm, a unique item will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Society’s ongoing efforts to reopen a stretch of the old ALR.
The item is a copy of the much sought-after book, ‘The Ashover Light Railway’, written by Society President Robert Gratton. However this is no ordinary copy, as the book has its own purpose-made slip-case and will be signed at the AGM by Robert Gratton and Society officials, commemorating where and when this took place.
This will be a totally unique copy of the book, which is generally regarded as the definitive history of the ALR.
Why should we keep this wonderful opportunity for members only? The answer is we are not, and any interested parties who are not yet members of the ALRS are encouraged to bid for the book.
This can be done as a sealed bid, which will be opened at the AGM at the time of the auction.
To submit a bid, please send it in a sealed envelope (including your name and address and any other contact details) by May 16th to: ALRS Book Auction, 76 New Road, Rhosddu, Wrexham, LL11 2ES.
Remember - all proceeds for the sale of the book will help the Society continue its work, so please bid generously for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
