Second Successful AGM!
On Saturday May 10th the Society held its second annual general meeting at the Parish Hall in Ashover.
The turn out was excellent again and the meeting started punctually, with reports given by the Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer and Secretary. Committee member David Hopkinson and society President Bob Gratton also spoke to the floor, David about his passion for the society and its ambitions, and Bob to thank the committee for its hard work. Chairman Gary Boyd-Hope then went on to give a presentation about the society’s present position and future aims.
A successful auction was held after the meeting to raise money for the society, and the society’s sales stand, which was open both before and after the meeting, was almost depleted by the members’ enthusiasm for the merchandise!
After the meeting refreshments were served and many stayed to chat about the ALR and make new acquaintances. A good day was had by all!!
The next AGM is pencilled in for May 16th 2009.
